Oh, July

Man... I haven't written in here for a WHILE.  Sorry guys. SORRY.

Anyway, I've still been working a lot.  Last Weds was the first night I went out and hung out with the only person I knew in California, who I guess I am supposed to call "Red" (I don't call her that but everyone else does... and I think it makes me look like a weirdo that I don't).

I knew her from back home, and she moved out here recently with her Husband and Son so he could work and her son could watch Cars.

We started our night out by going to this place called Happy Endings.  It was a regular bar type place, but they were having "Coreyoke" that night, which consisted of 3 dudes, all dressed like the 3 famous 80s Coreys, as a backing band for karaoke.  It was fairly entertaining to watch, and there were tons of weirdos.

Afterwards, we went to the Snake Pit on Melrose (which according to the receipt, is actually called The Steak Pit?) so Red could try Absinthe.  She hated it.  It smelled like Black Licorice.

So that was my Weds night.  It was a great time.

Which brings me to July 4th.  Ahh, yes. Independence Day.  Happy Birthday, USA.

Since I had off work, I was fortunate enough to be invited down to San Diego to hang with the Cole family for their July 4th Celebration.  We hung out at their place for  a while and played with these really awesome Wall-E toys Wyatt (their son) had.  It was EVE and Wall-E and they interacted with each other and talked and stuff.

Anyways, after that we went over to this guy Gilbert's apartment, and there was a couple other people there and we all hung out and lit off some cheesey, "safe", fireworks.  We then played charades.

One of the best parts of the night was we were down by these train tracks outside his apartment lighting off the fireworks, and these 3 kids with skateboards walked past us, and turned around and yelled down the road "Hurry up, Sausage!"  We all looked, and down the road, putting along was this little chubby kid named Sausage.   It was out of The Sandlot or something.  Super great.  Then Sausage hung around with us and watched the fireworks.  If there's one thing I take away from this July 4th, it's definitely Sausage.

Got home late, went to sleep, and here I am.   It's been a pretty great week.  Work was awesome and I met a bunch of new people who were all really nice.

I'll try to keep this updated more than every few days. I was totally slipping.

i cant believe how different people out here treat 4th of july.
also, i wish we had gone to the beach, but then again we all could have been sitting in our houses wishing we were back east, so its better than that.
